OpenSea seeks a highly motivated, talented transactional lawyer to work on commercial transactions and help provide legal support across our business. The role will require significant cross-functional collaboration with Product, Engineering, Finance, Policy, Accounting, Business Development, and Corporate Development teams. The ideal candidate should have experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex agreements and embrace the challenge of resolving unique, complex issues in creative and efficient ways.
Responsibilities
- Contract drafting, reviewing, and negotiating for Business and Product teams for a range of complex commercial agreements and policies
- Advise on commercial, marketing, blockchain and IP transactions related issues
- Provide effective strategic business and legal advice to build and enforce patent and trademark portfolios
- Prioritize and manage simultaneous legal matters under tight deadlines
- Manage legal issues in existing domestic and international commercial relationships
- Identify and build new processes to better scale commercial transactions and execution
Desired Experience
- 5+ year of experience (Counsel) or 7+ years of legal experience (Senior Counsel); preferably with high-growth tech companies
- Experience managing patent and trademark portfolios preferred
- Strong track record of effective cross-functional partnership with non-lawyers to align on quick, creative solutions
- Passion for crypto, blockchain technologies, web3, and NFTs
- Juris doctor from accredited law school
- Admission to at least one US state bar
