About the Filecoin Foundation for the Decentralized Web

Filecoin Foundation for the Decentralized Web (FFDW) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit whose mission is to ensure the permanent preservation of humanity’s most important information by stewarding the development of open-source software and open protocols for decentralized data storage and retrieval networks. We exist to advance humankind by bringing Web3 to life through education, research, and development. FFDW sees Filecoin as a foundational technology for the broader decentralized web ecosystem and seeks to support that entire decentralized web community. This is a full-time contractor position, remote from anywhere in the world, with the potential for future full-time employment. Work hours should overlap with US business hours.

Job Description

Filecoin Foundation for the Decentralized Web (FFDW) is looking for a professional, tech-savvy Administrative Specialist to directly support our project partners. You will provide significant operational, logistical, and administrative support to organizations we work with on our shared mission to build a more equitable and democratic internet. The ideal candidate will be proactive, tech-savvy, and deeply passionate about improving the internet to help people around the world. Though you will report to FFDW, you will also be working directly with a small number of Filecoin Foundation partner organizations and be managed day-to-day by the senior representative with each project partner you are supporting. Duties will vary by the individual needs of each project partner – each day will be different, and your work will ensure the smooth functioning of our joint projects. Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative, logistical, and operational support to ensure the efficient operation of FFDW partner projects
  • Ensure that communication flows smoothly and effectively between FFDW and project partners
  • Ensure that operational requirements of a given project are completed on schedule
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings and calls with participants across the world
  • Prepare notes, presentations, and other necessary documents for meetings
  • Assist with travel arrangements
  • Help project partners maintain and order supplies, ship supplies and equipment
  • Entering, updating, and reviewing data
  • Assist with project reporting, including updates on key milestones and deliverables

Your Profile

  • 1-3 years of administrative experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with complex calendar management experience
  • Experience with booking domestic and international travel
  • Creative, flexible, and innovative team player with the ability to take initiative
  • The ability to handle confidential and sensitive information discreetly
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to seamlessly switch gears when needed
  • An aptitude for multitasking with experience in managing multiple, shifting priorities
  • Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Google Suite (Gmail, Google Calendar, Docs, and Sheets), Adobe Acrobat, messaging services such as Slack and Discord, and project management tools such as Trello and Asana
  • Familiarity with or an interest in blockchain technology, open-source communities, and the Web3 ecosystem a plus
