Overview

The Blockport team is looking for an experienced compliance officer to provide strategic and executional structure to our internal compliance department. The role of a compliance officer is to make sure that Blockport is conducting its business in full compliance with all national and international laws and regulations, as well as professional standards, accepted business practices, and internal standards.Β  There is both an ethical component and a pragmatic component to compliance – a role that is crucial in helping organizations manage risk, maintain a positive reputation, and avoid lawsuits. As a compliance officer you will be instrumental in positioning Blockport to remain one of the most stable and empowering brands for both current and potential customers and stakeholders.
So you..

  • Develop and implement an effective legal compliance program;
  • Monitor and improve the KYC and AML compliance process;
  • Create and update risk frameworks;
  • Create sound internal controls and monitor adherence to them;
  • Process unsuccessful KYC checks that are performed by our automated third-party KYC services (Onfido, Jumio, Trulioo)
  • Draft and revise company policies;
  • Proactively audit processes, practices and documents to identify weaknesses;
  • Evaluate business activities (e.g. cyber security) to assess compliance risk;
  • Collaborate with external auditors and HR when needed;
  • Set plans to manage a crisis or compliance violation;
  • Educate and train employees on regulations and industry practices;
  • Address employee concerns or questions on legal compliance;
  • Keep abreast of internal standards and business goals.

Requirements

Must haves:

  • Proven experience as a Compliance Officer or Compliance Manager;
  • Experience with handling Compliance in the Financial sector;
  • Experience in risk management;
  • Knowledge of legal requirements and controls (e.g. AML);
  • Familiarity with industry practices and professional standards;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Integrity and professional ethics;
  • Teamwork skills;
  • Attention to detail;
  • BSc/BA in law, finance, business administration or a related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g. Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP)) is a plus

Nice to haves:

  • Experience within FinTech (startup) companies;
  • Experience with the agile / scrum way of working;
  • Experience with trading cryptocurrencies or other assets.
