Overview
The Solana Foundation is a non-profit based in Zug, Switzerland, dedicated to the adoption, decentralization, and security of the Solana network. Solana is a high performance blockchain that can deliver a fast and friendly user experience, without sacrificing security. The Solana Foundation is working to realize a world where individuals own their data, use permissionless networks, and transfer information and value freely around the world. We are looking for talented people who are willing to jump right in and use their expertise to help the ecosystem build.
The Opportunity
As the Solana developer ecosystem continues to grow, new applications open up possibilities on what you can build on top of Solana. To accelerate development on these new possibilities, open source code and examples need to be created and discussed in the public. In this role, you will be responsible for helping create prototypes of new ways to use Solana, speak publicly on these prototypes, and create video content showcasing the new use case. You will work with developers in the ecosystem to understand their needs, what difficulties they have building, and identify gaps we can fill with example solutions.
Responsibilities
- Increase adoption of Solana’s technology by working directly with our developer community to reduce the cost of adoption, answer technical questions, and funnel insights back to the team to improve the overall experience and technology.
- Help build and/or project manage simple applications that show off what a performant blockchain can do.
- Record and create content showcasing developing on Solana.
- Speak at conferences playing a community-building role in the global ecosystem.
Requirements
- 3+ years professional technical experience in (or exposure to) one or more of the following: Rust, C, C++, Javascript / Node.js.
- Has contributed to open source projects.
- Solana related open source projects are a major bonus.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and 3+ years of experience as a professional software developer.
