Applications for NFTs include collectibles, gaming items, domain names, digital art, and many other items backed by a blockchain. In this role you will be working closely with the CFO to help establish and build OpenSea’s Corporate Development team. We’re looking for a Director of Corporate Development who is interested in playing a hands-on role helping to define the future of NFTs, web3, and the digital economy.

Responsibilities:

– Play a key role in developing and executing our acquisition strategy.

– Lead end-to-end M&A process: prioritization, outreach, negotiations, close and integration.

– Collaborate with the product org to understand white space and other opportunities that can be accelerated through M&A.

– Develop strategic landscaping and opportunity mapping.

– Perform valuation and other financial impact analyses.

– Perform comprehensive, in-depth company and industry research as well as benchmarking analyses.

– Lead collaborative effort across key internal stakeholders including product, engineering, legal, accounting and operations.

– Contribute to OpenSea’s overall strategy.

– Scale the function as the company grows, attracting and developing amazing talent.

– Thrive in collaborative cultures and working cross-functionally with product, legal, finance, and operations.

– Build strong, cross functional relationships.

– Apply prior learning and experience to build our M&A strategy and playbook.

– Leverage creative thinking and dealmaking to close complex transactions.

Desired Experience:

– 6-8 years of M&A and corporate finance experience. Preferable past experience includes but is not limited to, investment banking in a tech sector coverage capacity , corporate development or M&A / Strategy role and other technology-focused finance roles where M&A was the primary focus.

– Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a technical field preferred but not required.

– Demonstrated ability to multi-task and apply initiative and creativity on projects, as well as personal and professional achievements.

– Experience in financial modeling and data and analytics.

– Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.

– Ability to quickly build trust with other team members as well as entrepreneurs.

– Ability to build and cultivate long-term relationships.

– Utilize data to provide actionable insights and ensure we’re driving toward the best possible outcome.

– Have outstanding interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence (EQ), and ability to persuade / drive alignment among differing perspectives.

– Positive attitude, developed intuitions, and self motivation.

– Comfortable leading deals with significant autonomy.A plus, if you have experience and/or are passionate about the blockchain, NFTs and crypto.
