On the institutional side of our business, some of the world’s most sophisticated clients have chosen Coinbase’s industry leading offerings for both Custody and Trading. We are growing our institutional team and are looking for motivated people to help chart the path of a new and rapidly expanding business. If you have a positive, proactive, startup mentality, and are interested in joining a highly disruptive business on the forefront of the burgeoning cryptocurrency industry, then you’ve come to the right place. Our institutional clients are both “crypto-forward” and just getting into crypto and you will be part of a team that cultivates key customer relationships in the US and abroad. This team will develop and execute the strategies to deliver on some of Coinbase’s key growth priorities.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Define the long term institutional coverage strategy.
  • Work closely with Trading and Custody product leads to define the firm’s approach to serving the institutional client segment and to play a key role in executing it.
  • Scale the Coverage team by putting in place high-impact processes and tools.
  • Advocate for the interests of Coinbase’s institutional customers to optimize the experience, providing data to push prioritization of product feature requests.
  • Spearhead efforts with our compliance, finance and operations teams to move customers through the pipeline from prospect to active as quickly and smoothly as possible.
  • Set financial and operational performance OKRs for the different aspects of the business, and steer the team to meet/exceed them.
  • Help the team to find market fit for new product offerings that Coinbase is developing.
  • Hire, manage and develop the talents of the members of the coverage team.

What we look for in you:

  • 10-15 years relevant experience in leadership role serving financial institutions.
  • Excellent recruiter and people manager with experience scaling teams.
  • Experience working with product teams and influencing product direction.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills: great listener with the ability to concisely synthesize complex issues for exec leadership.
  • Demonstrated excellence in making informed judgements, and setting priorities in ambiguous situations.
  • Great commercial and strategic instincts – the ability to come up with novel / unusual solutions in challenging situations.
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry and a passion for technology.
  • High EQ – the ability to relate to different constituencies internally and externally.
  • Curiosity and sense of humor.

Nice to haves:

  • Demonstrated interest for digital assets.
  • Series 7, Series 24 and 63 FINRA Licenses.
