Overview

Dfinity is a blockchain-based cloud computing project that aims to develop a decentralized “internet computer” that will become the cloud 3.0.” As Dfinity’s IT Manager, you will provide various technical and operational IT related services to Dfinity’s staff members around the world. You are a self-motivated and high energy person who loves learning new systems and technologies and you constantly look for ways to improve efficiency and usability around IT tools and services that are available to Dfinity’s staff.

As an IT Manager in our Workplaces Technology team, you will work as part of a globally distributed Operations team with the goal of delivering world-class technology and exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Manage/administer IT Helpdesk tickets(using Jira) and and resolve tickets in a timely manner.
  • End user instruction and training, including onboarding new hire w/ IT equipments and tools needs.
  • Respond to user inquiries
  • Recommend and perform actions to correct problems
  • Escalate security issues according to company policy
  • Set-up, configure, upgrade, and maintain all laptops, desktops
  • Own, follow-up and drive problem resolution
  • Proactively monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot issues
  • Perform quality assurance when required
  • Establish and maintain vendor relationships
  • Work with remote employees and troubleshoot laptops issues

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of hands on IT Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in related or equivalent experience preferred.
  • MAC OSX Mostly Mac Environment
  • Windows desktop OS, Windows7
  • Microsoft Office 365 applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
  • Google Apps: Gmail, Google Drive
  • Remote access technologies (VPN, ZOOM)
  • Basic Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, subnetting)
  • Valid Passport and flexible to very light international travel over time
  • Additional experience using the following: Coupa, Linux, JAMF, Jira/ Confluence Administrator, AWS, Active Directory/ Exchange, BetterCloud, Symantec Endpoint Management Suite
  • Works well under pressure
  • Experience working in a rapidly changing environment
  • Energetic self-starter who shows personal initiative
  • Good communication and support skills is important as well as being resourceful in troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Active Directory experience
  • Familiarity with Mac / *nix command-line
  • Admin experience on many IT office environment including but not limited to Okta, G Suite, Slack, Confluence, Jira, GitHub, VPN, Zoom (All hands conference setup), projector, etc.
  • Epic customer service skills with awesome communication skills and patience.
