The Solana Foundation is a non-profit based in Zug, Switzerland, dedicated to the adoption, decentralization, and security of the Solana network. Solana is a high performance blockchain that can deliver a fast and friendly user experience, without sacrificing security. The Solana Foundation is working to realize a world where individuals own their data, use permissionless networks, and transfer information and value freely around the world. We are looking for talented people who are willing to jump right in and use their expertise to help the ecosystem build.

What We Do

While much of the blockchain industry is iterating on scaling solutions, Solana is ready for businesses to thrive with a performant protocol that is constantly improving. Solana Foundation plays the role of facilitator. We help coordinate across core protocol development groups, of which there are 10+. We also make reference materials to accelerate other businesses coming to market. Some of these touch the core protocol like with Solana Permissioned Environments.

The Opportunity

Solana Foundation is seeking an infrastructure engineer to join our protocol team. Each individual protocol development org arranges its own test suites, deployment pipelines. At Foundation we facilitate integrations across protocol devs, the operators of the network (validators) and application layer.

There’s a great opportunity to expand the configurability of Solana Mainnet with external modules. Today that is realized through a technology called compressed NFTs, but this concept is quickly being extended for generalized off chain data, compute and privacy. Someone who wants to get into the weeds of configuration possibilities is ideal.

This role has the downstream impact of making step change benefits and efficiencies in a wide range of industries, and even help create new ones. If this problem space excites you, this is a unique opportunity to come in at an earth growth stage.

You will

  • Be deeply involved in core protocol code release, testing and definition of done
  • Enhance the speed, performance, and reliability of the core protocol
  • Review the architecture and assure best practices with contributors
  • Create documentation and materials to address knowledge gaps and accelerate projects’ understanding and collaboration around the Solana ecosystem

You ideally have

  • A passion for crafting exceptional software, valuing performance and maintainable code
  • Strong experience with devops, Rust/OOP, and infrastructure components.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other relevant field
  • Experience with a wide array of technical expertises and software development processes
