HBUS is looking for a highly motivated individual with previous experience in the Fintech or Financial Services industry to join our fast-growing team as a Regulatory Specialist. This role will report to the Compliance Manager and be responsible for day to day operations of the compliance department.

What You’ll Do:

  • Analyze user, transaction and market exchange data to identify fraud, suspicious activity and/or operational risk
  • Translate compliance requirements into functional business specifications and provide appropriate guidance to the Product, Technology and Marketing teams
  • Perform ongoing testing and monitoring of the exchange system to ensure continued compliance with regulatory requirements and compliance best practices
  • Lead by example in order to cultivate a culture of compliance across HBUS and ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Maintain and update compliance policies and procedures to ensure consistency with ongoing business and operations and communication of significant
  • Perform enhanced due diligence on consumer and institutional accounts to identify high risk customers
  • Research and interpret regulations relevant to the virtual currency industry including: BSA/AML, State Money Transmitters, Broker/Dealer and alternative trading system exchange requirements

 What You’ll Bring:

  • High School, Military or BA/BS Degree
  • 1-2 years of relevant compliance, controls, or operational risk experience with a specific focus on financial services, fintech or virtual currency
  • Strong interest in virtual currency or blockchain (prior experience preferred but not required
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills both verbal and written and at all organizational levels
  • Great work ethic, willingness to learn and proven ability to succeed in a fast-paced, transparent and collaborative working environment
  • The ability to network effectively and develop strong working relationships with others
  • Experience with Excel (formulas and pivot tables) and other Microsoft Office applications
