The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Controller, the Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager will assist in the development of the accounting function at the Solana Foundation and its wholly owned US subsidiary, SF Operations Inc. We are looking for someone who has experience in both public accounting and private practice with experience being involved in year-end reporting and a month end close who can help us create efficiencies, reduce manual work, and assist in automating processes. The Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager will play a critical role in driving the accounting/finance function in partnership with the Finance team and across the business to ensure our systems and processes are running smoothly.

  • Ensuring all financial information is accurately reflected in the general ledger in compliance with appropriate GAAP standards for our Swiss and US based entities
  • Preparing and assisting in month-end financial reporting, budget vs actual, and other ad-hoc reporting
  • Assisting in streamlining month-end closing processes to reduce close time and increase controls and efficiencies
  • Preparing and leading balance sheet and asset reconciliations including but not limited to bank transactions and on-chain wallet transactions
  • Leading the execution of our Procure to Payment (AP) and Order to Cash (AR) processes
  • Identifying and proposing solutions to bottlenecks in the AP/AR process
  • Monitoring of processes, procedures, and controls to ensure record keeping accuracy
  • Proactively identify control gaps and building processes, procedures, and controls around them
  • Assist in expense and corporate card management and review of employee/company spending
  • Reports to Controller to support the various entities, with various ad hoc and on-going assignments as the Controller may require

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of accounting experience in a combination of public accounting firm and/or relevant industry experience with an emphasis on accounting, financial management, and financial reporting (experience in FinTech, preferably blockchain, is a bonus)
  • Certified Public Accountant
  • Experience with Xero, or other similar accounting platforms like Quickbooks
  • Experience using Airtable, and other automation databases, preferred
  • Curious about the blockchain and digital asset space
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced start-up
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Humility, empathy and open-mindedness
  • Startup experience or experience working at a company that has scaled quickly
