Reporting to the Director of Accounting, the Staff Accountant is part of a team responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining our accounting systems via a robust technology stack. This includes ensuring accuracy and compliance of financial records, preparing essential statements, and supporting the overall financial health of the company.

Note: This position is fully remote and does not require relocation or visa sponsorship. We are currently unable to sponsor work visas in the U.S.The team you will be joining is globally distributed, with members located in North America, Europe, and Oceania.

Responsibilities:

  • Weekly bank account and credit card transaction categorization, preparation of journal entries, vendor invoice processing, and special projects for the Director of Accounting and CFO as needed
  • Month end close process, including all bank and balance sheet reconciliations, revenue and expense reporting, variance analysis and monthly reporting package.
  • Quarterly payroll and other reconciliations and management reporting
  • Annual audit support including working with external audit and tax teams, preparation of audit and tax schedules, and R&D tax credit study data collection
  • Assist with budget process and other projects as requested

Qualifications:

  • 2+years of Accounting experience, 2-5 years preferred
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with partners, understanding their needs, and aligning them with Storj objectives
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation and organization skills, attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to collaborate with a cross-functional team, both technical and business
  • Ability to work effectively and independently in a remote work environment.
  • Ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights
  • Understanding and proven experience applying GAAP, accrual accounting and other relevant accounting principles.
  • Highly proficient in Xero accounting software, Google Suite Applications, and Excel.  Experience in Ramp and foreign currency is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred

Salary Range

  • $74,000 – $112,000
